The Colorectal Day will be special in 2017 as it is 40 years since Søren Laurberg graduated from medical school and moreover, he has now stepped down as Vice chairman of Department of Clinical Medicine and Centre Chair at Aarhus University Hospital.

An unusually high number of international speakers will participate and celebrate in this special occasion.

Five themes have been selected with focus on what has happened within the field during the last 40 years, current important scientific challenges as well as developments within the next decade.

The five themes for Colorectal Day 2017 are:

• Surgery  in patients with Ulcerative Colitis
  
  
• Rectal cancer surgery
  
  
• Treatment of functional disturbances
  
• Pathology and diagnostic imaging in colorectal cancer
  
  
• Development/research

Spouse programme:

In collaboration with VisitAarhus, the official tourist organisation for the city of Aarhus, a spouse programme has been made in connection with the conference.
